The Vortex is one of Londons top jazz venues and has earned its reputation internationally. As a volunteer-led jazz club in North London, Dalston, the club has been given much recognition by prestigious Downbeat magazine as one the top 150 jazz venues in the world. For over 25 years, the club has been serving as platform for jazz, improvised and experimental music.

The Vortex offers one of the most diverse lineups of any jazz club in London, ranging from traditional, commercial, contemporary jazz acts to blues and rock as well as avant-garde. The club also showcases nights of poetry and spoken word, as well as the occasional folk acts.
